Indian badminton ace P V Sindhu won against Estonia's Kristin Kuuba in the women's singles group stage match at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 31. With this, Sindhu has now entered Round of 16 or the pre-quarters. Sindhu dominated with 21-5, 21-10 in her second and last Group M match at the La Chapelle Arena.
In the first round, Sindhu scored a 21-5 victory in just 14 minutes while in the second game, she maintained her dominance spree by winning 21-10 in 19 minutes. Speaking of her next match, Sindhu may now face China's He Bingjiao in the upcoming Round of 16 who she had defeated to win bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Earlier on Sunday, the two-time Olympic medallist won her first match by defeating Maldives' Fathimath Abdul Razzaq with 21-9, 21-6. Sindhu who is aiming for her third Olympic medal, took only 29 minutes to secure a victory over her lower-ranked opponent in the Group M match.
The Indian ace has previously won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Games and a bronze in the Tokyo edition.
