Amid rising dengue cases in Mumbai during monsoon season, Anand Mahindra shared a video of a machine that can effectively ‘seek out and destroy mosquitoes’ at home. The business tycoon termed the machine, made by a Chinese man, as ‘Iron Dome for Home’

“With dengue on the rise in Mumbai, I’m trying to figure out how to acquire this miniature cannon, invented by a Chinese man, which can seek out & destroy mosquitoes! An Iron Dome for your Home…, ” Anand Mahindra shared on X.

The video, which the Mahindra and Mahindra Chairperson shared without providing any details of the source, gave a glimpse of the miniature cannon that can effectively destroy mosquitoes at home. The video also shows a notebook with dead mosquitoes pasted in a sequence on pages.

Several social media users applauded Anand Mahindra's idea to deal with rising dengue cases in Mumbai.

“Omg! china is way too far in terms of invention,” wrote a social media user on the post.

“Even if not the cannon, I'm interested in getting this logbook that the person has maintained. Just imagine, a couple of civilisation later, this will be such a valuable resource when it is found in excavations. It will tell a lot about our times and issues,” commented a social media user on X.

Dengue cases in Mumbai this monsoon

Amid the ongoing monsoon season, Mumbai, Nashik, and Kolhapur accounted for nearly 40 per cent of total dengue cases in Maharashtra this year, reported Indian Express. Till August 7, Maharashtra reported a total of 6,751 cases of dengue and 8,730 cases of malaria. According to the report, around 80% malaria cases in the state are reported from Gadchiroli, Mumbai and Raigad.
