According to a report by the ANI, residents in Badlapur protested against the sexual abuse of two minor girls which occurred last week. The parents came to know about the incident on August 18 and filed an FIR.

So far, the police have arrested one person in connection with the case. The police further stated that one of the children, aged four, narrated the incident to her parents. Thereafter, the parents contacted the other girl's family. The complaint was filed by both parties after the former said their daughter was afraid of going to school.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, UBT Sena MP, condemned the incident, stating that the entire state has been outraged over the incident. She further urged the President to approve the Maharashtra Shakti Criminal Law.

“Two young girls were sexually assaulted in Badlapur, Maharashtra in the school premises; the entire state is outraged and seeks justice. I once again urge the President to approve the Maharashtra Shakti Criminal Law, so that no other child or woman faces this travesty. Shame on the state government to continue to ignore the safety of women,” said Chaturvedi, reported the ANI.
