Jammu and Kashmir news: Missing Army jawan’s body recovered in Anantnag

A Territorial Army soldier was abducted by terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, with one soldier escaping. Security forces are conducting a search operation for the missing soldier

On Wednesday, security forces recovered the bullet-ridden body of a missing soldier in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported. The body of Territorial Army jawan Hilal Ahmad Bhat, who had been missing since Tuesday from Shah, was found in the Sanglan forest area of Utrasoo.

The officials stated that the body has been taken to a hospital for medical examination. In the meantime, security forces had launched an extensive search operation to locate the missing soldier.

"Based on intelligence inputs, a joint counter-terrorist operation was initiated by the Indian Army, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and other agencies, in Kazwan Forest, Kokernag, on October 8. The operation continued overnight following the report of the missing soldier," the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army shared on X.
