India vs Australia Highlights: Chasing a magnanimous 206 runs-target, Australia needed 29 from 6 balls to win, but lost to India by 24 runs in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup at St Lucia on 24 June.

Chasing 206 runs against India, Australia scored 99/2 in just 10 overs. Travis Head scored his half century in just 26 deliveries and Australia need 107 runs in 60 balls at St Lucia. But, Australia could only score 181/7 in 20 over. For Australia, Hrad scored 76 off 43 balls, while Mitchell Marsh (37), Glenn Maxwell (20) did try their best, however, they fell shot by 24 runs.

For India, Arshdeep Singh took three wickets and Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets. Also Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel clinched one wicket.

Earlier, after losing toss and scoring 114/2 in just 10 over against Australia while playing the third Super 8 match in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup at St Lucia on 24 June, India scored 205/5 in 20 over and gave a target of 206 runs for Australia to chase.

For India, Rohit scored his second half century of the tournament in just 19 deliveries, which is his best in T20 World Cups. The Indian skipper made 92 runs off 41 balls.

While Suryakumar Yadav (31), Shivam Dube (28) and Hardik Pandya (27*) made some important runs.

For Australia, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Starc took two wickets, while Josh Hazlewood picked one wicket.

Rohit Sharma's men will look to keep the winning momentum going as they face Australia for their third Super 8 clash of T20 World Cup 2024. Australia had suffered a shocking loss at the hands of Afghanistan in their last game while India had convincingly defeated Bangladesh.

India, who will be looking for their third Super 8 win today, don't have much to worry about in terms of their team combination. Openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who had looked out of sorts, showed signs of regaining their form against Bangladesh.

Middle-order batsman Shivam Dubey also got some much-needed runs in the last match, while the batting of Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya has been India's main strength in the tournament so far.

Australia, on the other hand, will need to put the Afghanistan defeat behind them as soon as possible if they are to play their best cricket against India. Their recent record against India in ICC matches may also provide some motivation for the beleaguered Kangaroos.
