Interesting snippets of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murty's interview from The Kapil Sharma Show have been doing rounds on the internet. In one of the scenes from the show, Sudha Murty shared how her air travel preferences completely contrast with that of her husband.
The author of ‘Three Thousand Stitches’ advocated for travelling in economy class despite his husband, Narayana Murthy, 's requests to travel in business class.
“I spend all money on philanthropy. He’ll tell me to buy business class tickets, but I say, ‘Why? I will reach the same destination, at the same time with an economy ticket too.” HT quoted Sudha Murty as saying at the show. She also emphasised that people should spend only on things which they require.
She also pointed towards the difference between her and her husband and advocated that situations like this make a couple's bond stronger. “This is where we have a difference of opinion. He says I am extreme end, I call him the extreme end. We are opposites, but opposites attract, so we find a compromise zone”, she added.
During the show, Narayana Murthy pointed out that his wife is a philanthropist. Despite being a celebrated author and a philanthropist, Sudha Murty is “very careful about money”. He also added that his wife, also a member of the Rajya Sabha, seldom spends time in her own comfort.
As Sudha Murty was seen advocating only for “wise money spending habits” on the show, her husband Narayana Murthy was seen sharing an incident where his daughter Akshata Murthy had asked him to hire a chartered flight.
Netflix's ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ episode featuring Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty was streamed on November 9. While sharing the incident, Narayana Murthy recalled how his daughter asked him to return on the first flight back to Bangalore because he forgot the couple's 25th wedding anniversary. Akshata Murthy is married for former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The two were seen in Bengaluru on November 5.
