Salman Khan returns to Bigg Boss 18 amid security threat following death of Baba Siddique: ’Mere par bhi...’

Salman Khan resumed Bigg Boss hosting duties this week amid renewed security concerns following the murder of Baba Siddique. The actor appeared in a promo for the show that was aired via social media platforms on Friday — his first appearance since the politician's death. The teaser clip also came mere hours after the Mumbai traffic police received a threat message demanding ₹5 crore from the Bollywood star.

“Mere par bhi bahut saare laalchan lagae gae hain (I have been accused of many things). I know what my parents go through,” Salman said in the promo.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had earlier threatened to kill actor Salman Khan. Some of those arrested in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique have also alleged links with the gang.

Security was tightened at his residence on Friday following the latest death threats that also demanded an extortion payment of ₹5 crore. According to the Mumbai Police, the payment was sought from the actor “to end his long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi”.

“Don't take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan's condition will be worse than Baba Siddique,” the sender — who claimed to be close to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — warned.

Meanwhile a court at Panvel in Maharashtra also remanded a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in four-day police custody on Friday —  arrested for alleged involvement in a conspiracy to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The accused was identified as Sukha alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh and nabbed earlier this month from Panipat in Haryana. Officials said he will also be interrogated in connection with the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
