Deepika Padukone - Ranveer Singh blessed with baby girl; Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor cheer ’queen is here’

Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, September 8. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on their Instagram handles.

The development came a day after the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress was admitted to Mumbai’s Reliance Foundation Hospital, Deccan Chronicle reported.

On September 7, Ujjala Padukone accompanied her 38-year-old daughter to the Mumbai hospital. The star-duo celebrated parenthood almost six years after their lavish wedding ceremony at Italy's Lake Como.

Several Bollywood actors have poured in warm wishes for the couple in the comment section. 

Aliaa Bhatt chose a series of emojis to express her love for the new born, while Arjun Kapoor commented, “Laxmi aayi hai!!! The queen is here!!!”  

Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju of Made in Heaven fame, the transgender activist, Masaba Gupta, and Gauahar Khan also commented on the couple's post.

Netizens are abuzz with congratulatory messages for the couple. ‘Welcome little princess,' said a user on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Another user wrote, “There is a different joy in becoming a parent. This was also his dream which got fulfilled. May God bless all his loved ones with this happiness.”

A third user commented, “The fame he has earned in Bollywood is something that very few people get. Best wishes to this couple who have proved their ability on their own.” A fourth user remarked, “Prakash Padukone will also happy with New Baby girl.…After all he too has become a grandfather.”

However, according to Hindustan Times report the star couple and family members were seen arriving at the hospital on Sunday. However, the photographers were unable to take a snap of the star-duo as they were seated inside their curtained car. Subsequently, other relatives were spotting at the hospital premises.

The news about baby's arrival comes two days after the new parents were spotted seeking blessings at Siddhivinayak Temple located in the financial capital. The actress dressed in traditional green saree sought Lord Ganesha's blessings before her delivery on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The star couple announced their pregnancy in February this year.

On the professional front, Deepika and Ranveer are set to appear next in 'Singham Again', which is scheduled for release during the festive period of Diwali in 2024. Subsequently, Ranveer will feature in Aditya Dhar's upcoming action movie and Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3'.
