Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 16 will flag off India's first Vande Bharat Metro. The first Vande Bharat Metro service will be launched between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. Not just this, the Prime Minister will also flag off several other Vande Bharat trains today. This is also Modi's first visit to his home state after being sworn in as PM for a third straight term in June.
1. The Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro service will stop at nine stations and cover the 360-kilometre distance in 5 hours and 45 minutes at a top speed of 110 kilometres per hour.
2. Train No 94801 Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro will depart from Ahmedabad at 5:30 pm every day except Saturday and reach Bhuj at 11:10 pm on the same day. This will run with effect from 17 September, 2024
3. Train No. 94802 Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro will depart from Bhuj at 05.05 am every day except on Sunday and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 am on the same day and will run from 18th September.
4. PM Modi will flag off Vande Bharat trains on routes including Kolhapur-Pune, Pune-Hubballi, Nagpur-Secunderabad, Agra Cantt to Banaras, and Durg to Visakhapatnam.
5. Additionally, The prime minister will also inaugurate a 30 MW solar system, a 35 MW BESS Solar PV Project at Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station, Kutch, and 220 Kilovolt substations at Morbi and Rajkot.
6. Furthermore, he will introduce the Single Window IT System (SWITS) developed by the International Financial Services Centres Authority to enhance the efficiency of financial services.
7. The prime minister will also sanction over 30,000 houses under the PMAY-Gramin and release the first instalment for these homes, as well as launch construction of houses under the PMAY scheme today.
8. PM will also lay the foundation stone of projects concerning the quadrupling of the Samakhiali–Gandhidham and Gandhidham–Adipur railway lines, the development of iconic roads and the construction of flyovers in Ahmedabad city.
9. Earlier on 15 September, the Prime Minister virtually flagged off six Vande Bharat trains on the Tatanagar-Patna, Bhagalpur-Dumka-Howrah, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Gaya-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, and Rourkela-Howrah routes.
10. The Prime Minister also distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) in Tatanagar, Jharkhand, and also released the first installment of financial assistance for them.
