On July 7, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Telangana Minister, KT Rama Rao (KTR), directed his criticism towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing various issues.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhawan in Hyderabad, the son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, slammed PM Modi.
"Prime Minister Modi has not fulfilled even a single promise that he had made. He is busy laying the foundation stone for a railway factory in Gujarat," ANI quoted the BRS leader as saying.
Further, hitting out at PM Modi, he said, "Not only has a brick been laid for the proposed coach factory, clearance for the tribal university is also pending. Bayyaram Steel factory project, which was promised, has also not come to fruition yet," he added.
Prime Minister Modi is slated to undertake a visit to Telangana on July 8, during which he will partake in various official engagements. As per the Telangana BJP leadership, his itinerary includes delivering a public address in Warangal. However, the ruling party, BRS, has announced its decision to refrain from attending Prime Minister Modi's scheduled events.
Alleging that the NDA government at the Centre has been "anti-Telangana" in the last nine years, KTR earlier claimed that PM Modi had an anti-Telangana attitude ever since he became prime minister in 2014.
He alleged. Modi had laid the foundation stone for a ₹20,000 crore locomotive coach factory at Dahod in Gujarat one year ago but announced a wagon manufacturing unit with ₹521 crore at Warangal in Telangana. A railway coach factory was supposed to be set up in Telangana as per the AP Reorganisation Act.
"For Gujarat, ₹20,000 crore coach factory. But, for Telangana, ₹521 crore. As if alms are being given," PTI quoted him as telling reporters in Hyderabad.
As a private company has set up a coach factory in Telangana at an outlay of ₹1,000 crore, the Telangana people would not accept if Modi government established a factory with ₹521 crore, said Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration.
