Dhanteras kicks off five-day-long Diwali festivities. It is celebrated annually on the thirteenth day of the Krishna Paksha in Kartik (October to November) month. Dhantrayodashi marks the arrival of the goddess of wealth and prosperity, Goddess Lakshmi.
