Delhi news: AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal to move out of CM house today

Delhi news: AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal is likely to move out of Delh CM residence on Friday. The party leader will then shift to an MP's bungalow in the Lutyens' Delhi.

Delhi news: Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal will move out of the CM residence on Friday, October 4, the party said in a statement on Thursday. The party convener will move to an MP's bungalow in the Lutyens' Delhi.

According to ANI, Arvind Kejriwal will move to a bungalow at 5, Ferozshah Road, which is allotted to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal.

The party had confirmed the ANI update. AAP MP Ashok Mittal had willingly offered Arvind Kejriwal his official residence for living, reported the news agency citing sources. Earlier, the party had stated that the former IRS officer was finding a dispute-free property where there was “no problem in living there”

"AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal will soon leave CM residence and search for his new house has been intensified. He is giving preference to living around New Delhi, from where he is an MLA to remain connected with the people. Many MLAs, councillors, party workers and common people are offering them their houses to the AAP Chief," AAP added in the statement.

Arvind Kejriwal's resignation as Delhi CM

Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail on September 17 after spending months behind bars in the excise policy case. After coming out on bail, the party leader tendered his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister to Delhi LG VK Saxena.

After Arvind Kejriwal's resignation as Delhi CM, Atishi staked claim to form the new government. The former Delhi CM Kejriwal was released on bail on certain terms and conditions, including no permission to make any comments on the merits of the excise policy case. He was also not allowed to visit the Office of the Chief Minister and the Delhi Secretariat.

Followed by his release from Tihar jail, Arvind Kejriwal resigned as CM and said that he would return to the post only if he gets a renewed mandate and a "certificate of honesty" from the people of Delhi in the assembly polls likely to be held in February 2025.
