What all is falling as US markets crash at open today?

After a major sell-off from investors due to fears of a US recession, Wall Street opened lower. US markets coloured red as fears still loom over the economy, slipping into a recession.

US equity markets crashed as fear looms over economic recession. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.71 per cent or 681.07 points to 39,056.19. The S&P 500 fell 3.66 per cent or 195.42 points at 5,151.14, while the Nasdaq Composite crashed 6.34 per cent or 1,063.63 points to 15,712.53.

Gold prices fall over 2 per cent in the volatile market. The Spot gold fell 2 per cent at $2,393.66 an ounce at 11:39 GMT, and U.S. gold futures lost 1.4 per cent to $2,434.10.

The volatility index is at 2008 and 2020 level market conditions.

Oil prices are falling as the demand for the commodity falls. Brent Crude slid 1.93 per cent at market open on Monday, opening at $75.35, as compared to $76.81.

US Treasury Yields are falling; potential rate cut on the lookout. Tech company stocks like Intel, Nvidia, and Super Micro Computer fall in the S&P 500 Index.
