Reassuring the party followers, Thackeray also said, “We will keep fighting for the rights of Maharashtra.”

Home stretch for NDA

NDA, also known as Mahayuti in Maharashtra, has secured their place, crossing the 236 mark. The state voted for 288 seats on November 20, the result of which was seen to be bipolar on Saturday as the NDA alliance competed against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

Overall, the Mahayuti alliance is ahead with over 236 seats, reported the news portal NDTV. The MVA is ahead in 48 seats, while four seats went to others, as per the report.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the winning moment and called it “historic” and a victory of “development and good governance.”

“This affection and warmth is unparalleled. I assure the people that our Alliance will keep working for Maharashtra’s progress. Jai Maharashtra!” said Modi in a social media post on platform X.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena (undivided) won the majority votes, but the alliance fell apart when Shiv Sena pulled back, causing political turmoil in the state of Maharashtra.
