Q2 Results This Week: The earnings season of the July-September quarter of fiscal 2024-25 (Q2FY25) kicked off last week with India's largest information technology (IT) services provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). In the coming week, starting from Monday, October 14, several major blue-chip firms are scheduled to declare their Q2 results between October 14 and October 19, 2024.
TCS reported a 4.99 per cent increase in net profit at ₹11,909 crore in the September quarter, held back by a narrowing profit margin. The Tata Group company had reported a net profit of ₹11,342 crore in the year-ago period, while in the preceding June quarter, it had a post-tax net profit of ₹12,040 crore.
TCS' revenues rose 7.06 per cent to ₹64,988 crore from ₹60,698 crore in the year-ago period and were marginally higher compared to ₹63,575 crore in the June quarter. The operating profit margin narrowed to 24.1 per cent, down 0.2 per cent over the year-ago period and 0.6 per cent from the April-June quarter.
According to BSE data, 144 companies will announce their July-September quarter results for FY25 this week. IT majors Infosys, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Wipro, and Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) are set to declare their Q2 results soon. Banking majors Axis Bank and HDFC Bank, among others, will also reveal their Q2 scorecards.
