Infosys Q1 Results: Attrition rate falls 4.6%, employee strength declines 6.2% to 3.15 lakh

Infosys Q1 Results: The Bengaluru-based IT giant’s net profit has risen 7 per cent to ₹6,368 crore.

Infosys Q1 Results: Infosys Limited, India's second-largest IT company, reported a 4.6 per cent fall in attrition rate in Q1FY25 compared to the same period last year. The company's total headcount stands at 315,332. The Bengaluru-based IT major announced its April-June quarter results on Thursday, July 18. 

Infosys' attrition rate stands at 12.7 per cent, which is 4.6 per cent lower than the same quarter the previous year, when it was 17.3 per cent. The company reported a 12.6 per cent attrition rate as of the year ended March 2024, which marks a 0.1 per cent increase as of the April-June quarter, according to its exchange filing.

The IT company has a total workforce of 315,332 employees as of June 2024, which is a 6.2 per cent reduction when compared year on year. It had 336,294 employees in the corresponding April-June quarter of the previous year. It had 317,240 employees as of March 2024.

The company reported a 7.1 per cent increase in net profit at 6,368 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2024, as compared to 5,945 crore in the same period last year. Infosys' revenue from operations rose 3.6 per cent to 39,315 crore, compared to 37,933 crore in the April to June quarter of the financial year 2024.

Infosys shares closed 1.93 per cent higher at 1,759.15 on Thursday.

“We had an excellent start to FY25 with strong and broad-based growth, operating margin expansion, robust large deals, and highest ever cash generation. This is a testimony to our differentiated service offerings, enormous client trust, and relentless execution," said Salil Parekh, chief executive officer and managing director of Infosys.

The company now expects to see 3-4 per cent growth in constant currency and has maintained its operating margin guidance at 20-22 per cent for FY25.
